It just needs the adapter. Assuming it's the right adapter, then it should work fine with Kinect games and voice commands.
The way I fixed it was: on my xbox, I went to settings>account>privacy & online safety>app privacy>camera, and I made sure the camera on was checked as well as the Microsoft account and Microsoft edge. And so far it has worked. Hope that helps! 5. NyanCal.
